On 12 May, the Asset Management & Maintenance department not only celebrated its 2nd lustrum; but also put previous chairman Bart Smit in the limelight.
He received the certificate for 'KIVI Member of Merit' from the hands of the current chairman of the department, Simon van Benten.
Bart joined the board of the professional division as an enthusiastic member 2 years after its foundation in 2014. For the past 7 years until September 2021, he made a very large contribution to the professional events. He organised several events himself. He also involved the region / circle in North Holland in his activities. He ensured renewal through the recruitment of young enthusiastic board members surrounded by experienced board members to learn from. Bart was the driving force in the corona year in which we devised new strategies with all board members, including approaching young people and setting up the community.
Last September, he stepped down as chairman of the professional department, but is still very active within KIVI, including filling a vacant seat on the Members' Council.
