During KIVI Maintenance's General Members' Meeting on 8 September last, Simon van Benten was elected its new president.

Simon van Benten has been working in the world of maintenance, asset management and reliability engineering since 2010. In various consultancy and line roles over the years, he has had the opportunity to see the inside of many different companies and industries. Since 2 years, he has been working as an independent consultant and project leader. In addition, he has been teaching the course 'Risk Analysis and Safety' for the Master of Engineering programme at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences since this year.
Simon's motivation
What strikes me is that many organisations struggle with the same problems when it comes to maintenance, but a specific solution should always be tailor-made. In addition, huge technological advances have been made in recent years in the field of digitalisation and data collection. In maintenance land, however, this does not automatically lead to better decisions.
An important way forward as an industry and profession is to join forces, share knowledge and exchange experiences. In my role aspresident of KIVI Maintenance, I want to further facilitate this and grow this peer platform. In doing so, I would like to make use of all the new communication technologies and ways of working together that have emerged in recent times to help anyone who wants to, both online and offline, develop on both a personal and professional level.
The board wishes Simon every success and is confident of a good collaboration!
