On the A27 between Houten and junction Hooipolder, there are long traffic jams every day. Rijkswaterstaat will therefore improve this part of the motorway in the coming years. This will improve traffic flow in the future and there will be fewer traffic jams and shortcuts in the region.

One of the components is the improvement of the Hooipolder interchange. A new connecting arch of the A59 from the direction of junction Zonzeel to the A27 towards Utrecht replaces the current traffic lights for left-turn traffic. This will allow this traffic to continue directly around the junction. Traffic on the A27 from Utrecht can also go to the A59 towards the Zonzeel interchange without stopping, as can traffic on the A59 from 's-Hertogenbosch to the A27 towards Utrecht. So there is less traffic using the traffic lights. Traffic from eastbound to westbound will get more green lights as a result. Something from which the entire interchange will benefit, as the waiting time in front of all traffic lights will decrease considerably.

Rijkswaterstaat and the contractor will allow us to get acquainted with the conversion work on 24 October from 13:00.
