Retiring the reconstruction?
Description
next 17 October, the annual Civil Symposium of The Society for Practical Study will take place with this year's theme: "Retiring reconstruction?". The symposium will focus on the replacement task of dry and wet civil engineering works. Many post-war engineering structures are coming to the end of their technical lifespan. Combined with increased traffic loads and stricter sustainability requirements, it is now an urgent problem that calls for smart integral solutions.
Do students know enough about this challenge? After all, replacement, renovation and integral and sustainable design will be an important part of the civil field in the future. How will the civil sector tackle this challenge? How would today's students approach the problem? What role will innovation and sustainability play in it? In the symposium, students, companies and professors will enter into a dialogue with each other and see what the answers might be to these questions.
