Description
The Maasvlakte 2 project, the construction of 2000 ha of new port area, is another unique hydraulic engineering project for the Netherlands after the Oosterschelde works. The Maasvlakte 2 organisation of the Port of Rotterdam Authority NV, the contractor combination PUMA (Boskalis and Van Oord) and KIVI NIRIA are jointly organising and lecture cycle, covering the entire process from preparation to execution.
During this lecture cycle, the various aspects that have been and are being investigated during the project have been discussed and explained.
The topics explained relate to:
- the preparation phase
- the tender phase
- the design phase
- the execution phase
- special topics.
The initiators believe that this lecture series will make a good contribution to knowledge transfer, information exchange and experience gained in this project for the entire chain in the realisation process of a large hydraulic engineering project.
Now that the project is in its final phase, the forthcoming lecture will focus on several special topics.
