Polder constructions & retaining walls
Description
The use of polder constructions for sunken infrastructure has taken off in recent years. Increasing use is made of natural sealing layers in which vertical walls are placed. There is a wide range of possibilities for these sealing walls, with specific advantages and disadvantages. Within the large-scale project 'Leeuwarden Vrij-Baan / Haak om Leeuwarden', many polder constructions and seal wall systems are applied. Existing systems have been further developed or innovative techniques applied. The lecture afternoon will focus on the design and implementation aspects of the various systems, considerations and risks. The afternoon will end with drinks
