As part of the High-Frequency Rail Transport Programme, ProRail is building a fourth track between 's-Hertogenbosch and Vught and the track in Vught will be partly deepened. This will benefit liveability and safety, including the removal of a number of level crossings.
The work includes:

  • Construction of an additional track between 's-Hertogenbosch and Vught;
  • Construction of a partly sunken track in Vught between Loonsebaan and Wolfskamerweg;
  • Free crossing of the tracks to Eindhoven and Tilburg;
  • The N65 will no longer cross under but over the tracks in the future;
  • A number of level crossings will be replaced by subways or crossings above;
  • Vught station will be sunken but the monumental building will be preserved.

To realise all this, ProRail and contractor BAM will first build a temporary track. At the request of KIVI, ProRail and BAM will give a lecture on how this big job, with many practical and technical challenges, should be done. Bam is the contractor for the relocation of the current tracks to make way for the construction of the sunken tracks.
