On 27 September 2023, the Dike Monitoring Network, in collaboration with Yvette Pluijmers (Miramap Aerial Surveys), Davy Depreiter (GeoHydroData) and Peter van Dijk (BZ Engineers & Managers), is organising a workshop on the use of lidar on and in dikes. KIVI members are very welcome to attend!

Lidar has developed strongly in recent years. One of the best-known lidar measurements can be found in the Actueel Hoogtebestand Nederland (AHN). The frequency with which the AHN is updated is being increased; the level of detail of the measurements now being made has increased significantly.

In addition, miniaturisation is and has been taking place: lidar is now also available on an iPhone. This brings with it new application possibilities. Not only the outside of dykes can be measured with the technique, but sometimes also the inside (e.g. excavations).

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  1. Developments in the field of lidar and platforms used: 2005 to the present.
  2. Latest developments in surveying the Actueel Hoogtebestand Nederland (AHN): the technique, surveying (aircraft) and measuring conditions.
  3. Terrestrial laser scanner & Mobile mapping: the technique, measurement/research applications and measurement conditions.
  4. Latest developments around miniaturisation. Handheld lidar (iPhone): the technology, surveying, measurement applications and measurement conditions.
  5. Current applications and application possibilities within water boards.

Of course, there will also be room for discussion and questions. If possible, we would like to collect and process live lidar data ourselves during the workshop. Will you join us? The workshop will take place in Amersfoort from 14:00 to 17:00.

You canregister by emailing netwerk@dijkmonitoring.nl. We will then send you the agenda item in which the exact location and final programme will be shared.
