Water governance & security
Description
Registration is still possible: there are still places available!
On the occasion of the commemoration of The 1953 Disaster, 60 years ago, KIVI NIRIA, Water Governance Centre, the Association for Water Management and Land Management and the Water Circle of the Association of Public Administration are organising the symposium 'Water Governance & Safety'.
The aim of the symposium is to define a picture of how to deal with Governance to keep the Netherlands future-proof water safe. The current approach has reached its limit; the social feasibility of our technically embedded safety standards is under discussion. Does the current standard of water governance suffice to find an adequate answer to tomorrow's water safety issues? Is it more a public or a private matter?
Led by chairman of the day Dr Ir. Ing. Govert Geldof, there will be a debate on developments in water governance to keep the Netherlands perpetually water-safe.
Two examples will explain the current practice of water governance. The panel led by Lambert Verheijen, dike grave of Waterschap Aa en Maas, will then debate with the attendees on the basis of propositions.
