(Water) works at and of Tauw
Description
What does work at a consulting firm look like? What role does Tauw play in projects? What design choices are made? How do we make the right design choices?
In the lunch lecture, Martijn Huis in 't Veld and Rik Bulsink provide insight into working at the Tauw consultancy firm. Specifically, they will go into designs within the water sector. One example is the recently completed pumping stations on Texel (See link below), in which Tauw took on virtually all aspects from design to implementation and brought them to a successful conclusion. Tauw is also involved in all steps to arrive at a dyke reinforcement. From the beginning when assessing the existing dike (See link below), the administrative issues at the water boards (See link below), the exploration phase (See link below) to the design and implementation. Besides these water safety projects, Martijn and Rik also deal with hydraulic engineering projects at Tauw, such as Overnight Ports, locks and layout of waterways and canals.. Based on projects, they will take you through the art of design, concluding with a small glimpse into the future of the field
