Design & Design Thinking is one of the hot topics in US Business Schools. Apple's success is partly made possible by a sophisticated design strategy. This has opened the eyes of many managers to the application of design and design thinking.

In the field of technology, too, Design Thinking is increasingly being applied to work on innovation and value creation. Applications for this include Frame Creation Theory developed by Prof Kees Dorst and Experiential Design Landscapes by Prof Caroline Hummels both affiliated to the TUE. This is supported by articles by Bruce Nussbaum in Business Week and Tim Brown in the Harvard Business Review. This different way of thinking provides new insights and can be the basis for new products, services and policies to be developed.

Therefore, we think it is a good idea if this thinking is shared with KIVI members. Sharing this thinking fits well with KIVI Technical Businessmen and hands-on sharing is the best way.

Getting actively involved yourself: We have developed a workshop programme for KIVI Business Administration to get actively involved in the afternoon. VanBerlo has developed and practically tested a large number of tools, methodologies and approaches in the field of social design. We will discuss what design can contribute to achieving the strategic goals of organisations and cases of how they are already using it.

Diner: For those who want to chat and network, we will have dinner at Ulthimo Cuisine, 10 minutes by bike or five minutes by car. A beautiful venue with creative, delicious and surprising food.

Please indicate immediately if you are joining us for dinner, stating any dietary requirements or allergies. As lunch and dinner are arranged in advance, this is essential.

Tip: If you come by train, it is handy to hire an OV bike. Everything is within cycling distance.
