My first experience of networking ...

Early in my working career, I had joined an industry association. Not directly with a purpose, except to get to know the sector better. But at my next job in that sector - more active in commerce and project management - I found that the contacts I had gained were useful. These contacts allowed me (the company) to get requests out of hand that I wouldn't have known or received otherwise, and I could consult acquaintances on project issues if necessary. Now, from an industry association, it is fairly obvious that you build contacts, only how can you get beyond just the industry association? And how do you get beyond just "me" as an organisation/team?

In this Masterclass, ing. Miriam Notten will take us into the world of networking. Something she has been doing for more than 20 years. In this knowledge session, she will discuss the importance of networking for organisations by citing examples from her daily practice.

She has advised large organisations like Siemens, TBI and Rijkswaterstaat on the importance of networking and how to organise it internally. But also with smaller organisations or specific departments.

Among other things, she will reflect on angles such as what benefit did these organisations derive from this? Both directly and indirectly. Furthermore, what does it take as an organisation to set up a "network DNA", how long does it take for this extra effort to pay off, are there requirements/wishes for characters and how do you get your organisation/team to join in the network thinking? We will also discuss where was it unsuccessful and why?
