IPMA-NL Annual Conference 2012
Description
The environments of projects and programmes are becoming increasingly complex and diffuse due to technological changes. But when implementing projects, it seems, we still have the "classical" physical environment in mind, with its structures and processes. But those structures are becoming less important and all kinds of "accidental" connections are gaining weight. Being able to deal with this increasingly complex world is one of the tasks of today's project manager. Trust is an important tool in this, but it also means being open to the uncertainties that come with that complexity.
Being vulnerable means investing in trust in advance, but without a worked-out business case. After all, you cannot calculate in advance the
return on that investment. Thus Complexity and Trust form an almost inseparable duality, but one that we all have to deal with on a daily basis.
