Description

On Thursday 22 January, KIVI Business-South held a symposium around the theme of Reshoring Manufacturing. Around 100 attendees followed the presentations of four speakers working in science, an OEM, the supply industry and politics. Each speaker highlighted the theme from his specific point of view. The presentations ended with a lively and engaged forum discussion with firm statements. However, it should not stop there!
So 19 January 2016 we will do it again in a different format.

Talking about it is one thing, doing it is another. However, that does not apply to OMRON.
For some years now, OMRON in Den Bosch has been working in a focused manner on the conditions to retain its ongoing production for the Netherlands. To this end, they have put heavy emphasis on "Lean Manufacturing".
OMRON in Den Bosch is so successful at this that they can currently compete well with production sites in the F.E. Their structural and sustained effort has recently been rewarded by bringing back production from China to den Bosch. An appealing example of Reshoring

During this visit, Management Manufacturing & Warehousing Operations will explain how they have been able to get this far and that although cost price is dominant, it is not the only determining factor for production in Den Bosch. Many additional benefits are gained on quality, flexibility, controllability and time to market, among others.
Omron shows that retention and Reshoring of Manufacturing is possible.
Convince yourself, and let yourself be informed how Omron has managed the Reshoring.

Check the proposition: "Off shoring of Manufacturing usually a sign of incompetence!"
