Simulation as a design tool
Description
Transportation Science: symposium 'Simulation as a Design Tool'
Is it useful to create a simulation model? The choice of a simulation model depends on the question and problem surrounding a particular situation. Capacity calculations in a spreadsheet can be very effective, and even the much-vaunted beer mat is entirely appropriate in certain situations. However, situations are increasingly occurring in which more advanced techniques are needed to understand a situation and arrive at an optimal design.
In cooperation with KIVI NIRIA Department of Transport Engineering, the Dispuut Transportkunde of TU Delft is organising an afternoon symposium on 19 May 2010 on the subject of 'Simulation as a design tool'. During this symposium, several experts will give an insight into the various considerations that are important when applying simulation in the Transport and Logistics sector
