The gap: perception or reality?
Description
In both the literature and daily newspapers, there is frequent talk about the presence of a gap between client on the one hand and contractor on the other. But is the presence perception or reality? In either case, it is interesting to look at the causes. But also at the possibilities of bridging this gap.
Over the past decades, a lot of research has been done, by various parties, on the causes of the substantial budget overruns of projects. The conclusions drawn and any actions that followed have apparently added little. So are we doing something wrong? It seems so.
In our view, bridging the gap is part of good commissioning practices. Principals hold the key to making a positive change. In this lecture, Derk Kremer elaborates on this issue. How did the gap arise and what means does a principal have to close it?
Ir. Derk K. Kremer is the speaker and he will elaborate on the relationships and possible distance between contractor and principal, and how to bridge it. He is director/owner of Eestum Management and has delved deeply into the topic of Good Contracting and has done a lot of research on the subject. Meanwhile, he is seen as a specialist capable of linking theory and practice on assignment management. From this, he has developed his own vision on how line management or boards of directors can fulfil their commissioning role. He regularly gives guest lectures on this subject, as well as lectures and presentations for boards, management teams and other interested parties.
