Just under 20 interested people attended the evening lecture "Overview Workshops."

At our host USG Innotive, Hendrik Bosman gave an overview of topics that may be held as workshops later this year. He addressed:

-commercial skills.
- Key Account Management.
- Financial skills for Engineers.

The second speaker, Gerard v.d. Kerkhof, gave an interesting talk on overcoming a threshold with regard to making presentations in front of groups. This concept: presenting naturally will be further explored in a three-day workshop starting 14 May 2009.

Description

In cooperation with Region South, KIVI NIRIA Department of Commercial Engineering is organising an evening lecture, in which you will be given an overview of workshops to be organised in the field of 'Financial Management' and 'Presenting Naturally'.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:
The lecture will explain the topics, which will be dealt with in a workshop to be organised later. The intended target group is those without a financial background, but who nevertheless have to deal with financial topics from their position. The lecture will include:
- reading balance sheets
- reading profit and loss accounts
- various budgeting methods
The lecture will be given by Mr H. Bosman, former General Manager of Toshiba Benelux. Currently working as a coach and consultant in the field of Strategy, Commerce and Financial Management. Mr Bosman boasts rich international experience in the above fields. Naturally, his experiences will be discussed extensively in the evening lecture.

PRESENTING IN SOFTLY:
It is becoming increasingly important to present your message, product or vision convincingly and enthusiastically. You want to be confident. Free from tensions and nervous feelings. During your 1-on-1 conversations, group discussions, meetings, speeches or presentations, you want to strike the right chord. Nowadays, craftsmanship is only mastery if you can also present it like a master. Professional, persuasive and engaging communication/presentation is of strategic importance more than ever.
The lecture will be given by Mr G. van de Kerkhof of VCM Trainings in Liessel. Mr Van de Kerkhof is communication advisor to some renowned and successful companies.

TARGET GROUP
Commercial and technical employees, managers, directors. product specialists, account managers, sales advisors, technical advisors. In short, for anyone who wants to communicate and present confidently and convincingly.

VERVOLG
After the evening lecture, we will determine whether there is interest for the above topics to be explored further in 1 or multi-day workshops.
