Big data, what is and what should you be able to do?
Description
For this session, we have found Friso van Vollenhoven (http://www.linkedin.com/in/frisovanvollenhoven), Big data experience expert par excellence, willing to come and share his experiences.
The term Big Data is undergoing strong inflation and is becoming increasingly broad. Saying "I work with Big Data" is now the same as saying "I work in IT". No idea what that means. And what you do then. In this talk, we look at some typical Big Data use cases in the information domain (Hadoop-based data warehousing) and in the application domain (machine learning at large scale). We'll see how it works and what skills and disciplines come together to make it happen. And, what you can do to get yourself ready for this new world.
