Description

On Thursday 26 January, Dave Snowden, Internet sociologist and Chief Scientific Officer of Cognitive-Edge, will deliver the keynote on how to bring order to complex problems at the 3rd National Management & IT Symposium (MITS). Snowden is the founder of the internationally award-winning Cynefin Framework. A framework which helps organisations bring order to complex problems.

Snowden is a sought-after international speaker and his article on Leadership was the lead article of the November 2007 Harvard Business Review. His work is used in many markets all the way to the White House in the US. Learn how you too can solve complex IT issues within your organisation.

After Snowden's keynote, MITS participants can put his lessons into practice. In parallel tracks, CIOs from 5 organisations, including Nationale Nederlanden, Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen, the Dienst Justitiële Inrichtingen and Hogeschool Utrecht, will present their strategic IT issues as the kick-off of the 'Innovation Tables' an Open Space approach to solve a complex issue together during the day.

During the Innovation Tables, various 'Spice-Ups' - short presentations of 5-10 min - will be given on disruptive topics such as Big Data, Internet of Things, Machine Learning. So the question is what effect will this disruption have? So, the MITS '17 does not give you an opportunity to sit back but, demands an active engagement from all participants. It offers visitors the opportunity to make a concrete contribution, gain hands-on experience and take insights back to their own organisations.

The day is structured into 5 streams where each time a company from a particular sector and customer is the focus. From that company, the dilemmas that set the agenda in this day and age - often due to the influence of disruptive technology - are presented. In a few steps, you will engage with the company under the guidance of a top moderator. This unique format actually involves the participants.

You as a participant bring knowledge and insights and go home with new inspiration and knowledge from others. So throughout the day, you can settle into this fast-paced dynamic with often short inspiration sessions that have one thing in common: innovation!

Of course, there are many more interesting parts to the programme and plenty of reasons why you should attend.
