Are you Cashless or do you leave your debit card at home more often? Then you are not the only one. More and more people expect faster and easier ways to pay. Traditional players in the payments world could be hit hard if they do not respond to these kinds of developments. BigTechs and FinTechs and parties from other industries are increasingly entering the playing field and forcing change.
In collaboration with KNVI Utrecht, we are presenting the Disruptive Payments Event where we will address changing customer needs and preferences, innovation and laws and regulations. We have put together a programme that outlines a number of different perspectives on the world of payments. Capgemini will provide an 'outside-in' view, in addition Rabobank and FinTech SurePay will give their perspective on this.

Vincent Everts is Trendwatcher & was Serial Software entrepreneur in USA, Russia & the Netherlands. He was founder of MediaPlaza.nl and chairman of the NGN, (Netwerk Gebruikersgroep Nederland) one of the forerunners of the KNVI. He is always on top of the latest IT innovations and, as chairman of the day, will work to make the topic as clear and interesting as possible through interviews and audience questions. Capgemini Invent - Joost Paalvast - Director Consulting NextGen Financial Services
Every year, Capgemini conducts research into developments in the financial sector, and publishes about them in its "World Reports". Joost Paalvast is Director Consulting at Capgemini Invent and focuses on "NextGeneration Financial Services". He outlines some developments in the market based on the recent World FinTech report. He also zooms in on what is happening in the interplay between different players in the financial services ecosystem.

Rabobank - Michiel Kwaaitaal - Tribe Lead Payments
The banking sector is facing major changes. Competition from Big / Fintech, a revenue model under pressure due to negative interest rates, an economic downturn due to Corona and increasingly higher customer expectations due to experiences with online retailers and Software as a Service solutions in the SME segment. Michiel will give his vision of how he strategically views these changes in the Payments landscape and will discuss how Rabobank has adapted its organisational set-up to become more agile and increasingly responsive to these changes.

SurePay - Marcel Rienties - Co-Founder / Head of Products
SurePay is best known for the IBAN-Name Check, a service (API) integrated into the banking app by almost all banks in the Netherlands. The check prevents errors and fraud in payment transactions. Marcel Rienties is responsible for product development and new services at SurePay. He will discuss how a successful startup can emerge from a large organisation and that, as a FinTech, SurePay does not compete with financial service providers but rather seeks cooperation.
