During the knowledge and networking event 'The Master Speaks...' on 26 June 2026, Nynke Beentjes, Michel Peters and Guido Ongena will be happy to discuss the issue with you.

You hear it everywhere: healthcare is under pressure due to an ageing population, staff shortages and more healthcare complexity. Digitalisation such as EPD, regional and cross-sector data exchange and AI is often put forward as a solution. At the same time, healthcare organisations often have limited investment space, the use of standards is not yet embedded everywhere and requirements around data security, privacy and transparency are growing. Go figure!

There is also still a shortage of IV knowledge. Knowledge needed to shape digital transformation. Knowledge that tells an honest story about the strengths and obstacles encountered in organisations when setting up and maintaining a digital healthcare landscape. This is exactly what the new module Health Informatics we are developing within the Master of Informatics (MSc) is about. We hope to launch this very first domain-specific module in November 2026.

During the new module, we will examine the following issues, among others:

  • Fragmentation: what impact does the highly fragmented digital healthcare landscape have on citizens' health and well-being?
  • Culture of change: there is often talk of resistance among healthcare staff, but what is that really like?
  • Legislation and Direction: which laws and governing bodies play an important role in shaping the digital future?

Among other things, Michel shares case histories from his 20 years of experience in the world of Care. We will also inform you about our ideas regarding the Health Informatics module we are developing within the Master of Informatics (MSc). And, of course, we are happy to receive your ideas and advice, both from within and outside Care. You are cordially invited to this The Master Speaks to:

  • be informed, because everyone deals with healthcare.
  • share knowledge if you work at a healthcare or healthcare-related organisation.
  • share knowledge from outside healthcare that may be relevant to healthcare.

Interaction with the audience is highly desirable: you are cordially invited to join the discussion during this knowledge and networking meeting and in smaller company at the drinks.
