The festive first presentation of the KIVI Performance Awards, initiated by KIVI Department of Computer Science, took place in The Hague on 12 September. During a compact ceremony at KIVI headquarters, three exceptional second-year Technical Computer Science and Technical Mathematics students were put in the limelight for their outstanding study results in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Recognition of outstanding achievements
The KIVI Performance Award was created to recognise the achievements of technical talents and to support them in their development. The selection was based on examination results from their first year of study (2024/2025), based on officially certified lists of marks.

The awards were presented by Robert ten Hoor, Chairman of the KIVI Computer Science Department, who praised the students' achievements and wished them every success in their further studies and careers.

KoenOostveen, student of Technical Mathematics at the University of Twente, received this year's top prize for his outstanding performance. He will receive a scholarship of €150 per month during the 2025-2026 academic year, complemented by a free KIVI membership.

The second and third prizes, good for a monthly scholarship of €100 including membership, were awarded to Jakub Mazurkiewicz (Technical Computer Science, TU Delft) and Erik Zalán Szabó (Technical Mathematics, University of Groningen), respectively.

In addition to the three award winners, all other participating students will be offered a free student membership, giving them access to the technical network, events and career opportunities offered by KIVI.

With this annual award, KIVI shows how important it is to encourage young technical talent at the very beginning of their careers and to connect them with the wider engineering field. The organisation is already looking forward to the candidates for next year's edition.

Congratulations to all winners!
