Structural Safety
Description
Structural Safety is still in the spotlight, and rightly so! In November 2008, VROM-Inspectorate presented the Action Agenda for Safe Building Structures. The message was: 'Eliminate the weak links and maintain the chain'. The Action Agenda was drawn up together with a large number of parties in the construction chain that are important for structural safety in buildings.
We hereby invite you to attend the symposium on 11 December entitled: 'Structural Safety: Recession or Progression?' KIVI NIRIA Bouw and VROM-Inspectie are jointly organising this symposium, which aims to answer the question: what have we achieved in the Netherlands over the past year with the agreed actions, and how is constructive safety dealt with in neighbouring countries?
Renowned speakers from the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany will give their views on learning from mistakes and practical experiences. After the lectures, the chairman of the day will have the opportunity to discuss how the economic crisis, the selection procedures used, a new generation of structural engineers, the organisation of projects and unexpected incidents affect the safety of constructions.
