Description

The head office of G-star RAW is a new icon on Amsterdam's southern A10 ring road, located in the Amstel Business Park.

OMA designed a relatively simple building mass with plinth, consisting of black concrete with a north façade made almost entirely of glass, which reveals the interior to the traffic racing by on the ring road, both during the day and at night. As simple as the building appears from the outside, the internal division of space with staggered floors, voids and double-height spaces is ingenious. Striking is the plinth, also made of black concrete, which houses all installations and can be used for both parking and a fashion show on the deck. Interior and exterior of the office building are connected by huge hangar-like sliding glass doors. The cantilevering glass box housing the showrooms marks the main entrance.

The building is equipped with a WKO system with 2 sources, each with a flow rate of 110m3/h, in combination with a vrv (Variable Refrigerant Volume) cooling and heating system that can simultaneously meet different temperature demands within the building.
