Description

The future for Hamburg
In four days, you will get to know Hamburg, the most important port city north of Rotterdam. Social, political and economic changes have taken Hamburg and its port into a new phase of development. Under the responsibility of the "Behörde für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt" (BSU), a future vision for the city has been articulated in which the relationship with the environment is central. The study tour is dominated by this future vision and its first visible results.

Key projects
The "Schlüsselprojekte" will be visited and explained by specialists from BSU. A visit is also planned to the "Elbphilharmonie", to a design by Herzog & de Meuron, and the infocentres of the Internationale Bau Ausstellung (IBA 2013) and the Internationale Garten Ausstellung (IGA 2013). But there will also be time for your own exploration of the city, or strolling in the city centre or along the banks of Alster and Elbe, enjoying a city that combines its beauty with down-to-earth pragmatism and is very accessible to anyone who wants to discover it.
