Introduction to KIVI Construction
The department consists of mainly TU and HTS engineers whose careers involve planning, design, engineering, realisation and maintenance of the built environment. Section Construction thus covers all facets of structural, building engineering, installation engineering, management and governance.
Section Construction offers members the opportunity to participate in a network, consisting of local, regional, national and also international companies, partnerships and contacts. The department also has close ties with faculties, colleges and study associations in the Netherlands, ensuring innovation and development.
Objectives of KIVI Construction
The board of Afdeling Bouw aims to realise broad knowledge exchange between the various disciplines represented by its members. The department wants to be a meeting place for engineers working in the aforementioned disciplines or who want to be in the near future.
The objectives are point by point:
- Generating, innovating, transferring and applying knowledge and experience in the fields of structural and civil engineering.
- Stimulate an integral and multidisciplinary approach in the preparation and execution of construction tasks.
- Promote intensive and constructive interaction between educational institutions and daily practice.
Resources and results of KIVI Construction
To achieve its objectives, the Construction Section Board provides a platform for building, strengthening and maintaining contacts among members. This is facilitated with the organisation of activities such as:
- Lectures, seminars, company visits et cetera.
- Dutch excursions to specific construction projects.
- European and worldwide specialist trips.
