Financing D&V technology
Description
Ministry of Defence budgets for developing technology and products for defence applications have been under severe pressure for years. Well-known instruments such as CODEMA, CODEMO, NTP, SBIR ed. have been reduced in size or are no longer applied. Budgets for security technology are still fragmented and investments are almost at a standstill during the formation of the national police.
Perhaps private funding sources can bring a solution to enable defence as security technology development. However, conditions set by banks, professional and informal investors for technology development are different from governments. Concepts such as risk and return on investment play a key role here. It is important that the entrepreneur knows what the possibilities and limitations are.
KIVI NIRIA Defence & Security, in cooperation with WISER Consultancy, is organising a discussion afternoon on 25 September 2013 in which the developments, consequences and possible solutions will be discussed. Short lectures and introductions will be given, the main aim being to get and exchange information intensively in small groups. At each table, an expert will introduce the topic, after which participants will identify important aspects and discuss potential solutions.
