Description

With the Johan de Witt conference, we honour a great statesman and Council Pensionary who was gruesomely liquidated by the people of The Hague in 1672. At the time, Johan de Witt was only 47 years old. Unlike the current generation of administrators, he was involved in Dutch politics at a very young age. To illustrate, Johan became Council Pensionary for Holland and West Friesland at the age of 28.

To date, however, our conferences have not done justice to the young peers of Johan de Witt, whom he represented at the time. That is why this year we are letting this generation have their say. He who has the youth has the future is perhaps too much of a cliché. But we are convinced that among today's contemporaries of Johan de Witt, there are good ideas about innovation and leadership. Our current top executives can learn a lot from these ideas. That is why the theme is: Youth sets the course!

Teams of Young Professionals have therefore set to work on three sparkling themes for this edition:

- The Millennial Navy: How do we combine hierarchical leadership with a networked navy?
- Innovating for the Future: How do we integrate ultra-fast technology into agile maritime "Tesla's"?
- In the Heart of Society: How do we make the navy part of society in the digital century?

These young people want to mirror their ideas with you, which is why you are cordially "challenged" to attend our conference on Thursday 6 September. We want to invite you, top executives and politicians to join the conversation with our young people. In doing so, the young generation will naturally seek peer support to assist them from the audience. To warm up visitors for the discussion, the conference will be introduced and led by Richard van Hooijdonk.

Richard van Hooijdonk: "A fantastic wake-up call on how robots, internet-of-things, big data and 4-D printing are going to change our lives and work."

The conference will take place at 'Hal4 aan de Maas'. A contemporary setting, where we are confident we will achieve great conference results! We will conclude the conference with an enjoyable networking reception, where you can further engage in conversation with the participants and each other.
