Visit amphibious transport ship ZrMs Rotterdam

On Thursday 27 November, 15 students from the Technical Physics study association of the HvA (Hogeschool van Amsterdam) together with 15 KIVI members will have the opportunity to take a look on board Zr.Ms Rotterdam. This is an amphibious transport ship of the Royal Netherlands Navy and is a combination of an airport, port, car park, hospital, hotel and communications centre.... On the bow is the landing craft's NATO designation: L800. Besides a tour of the ship, naval projects in general and generic technical aspects of the ship will be discussed.

The ship is currently undergoing major maintenance at the DAMEN yard in Amsterdam. You are welcome on board, and at the DAMEN yard.

HvA students are offered the bus, lunch and guided tours by the Royal Navy. They register through the study association of Applied Physics.

KIVI members: you too can join the bus. You will be kept free by DAMEN. You register via this site.

Attire: as the tour will take place in a shipyard and on board a ship under maintenance, please wear sturdy shoes (preferably safety shoes) and long sleeves/jeans (for fire safety reasons). We will provide you with a helmet.
