The combined membership of KIVI and IMarEST is a fact. This means that engineers (incl naval officers TD) active in the maritime sector in the Netherlands can become members of both associations through KIVI at a reduced rate.
Unfortunately, this arrangement ceased from 1 January 2023.
The membership fee for WO and HBO trained engineers and naval officers TD for 2023 is €200 per year (VAT exempt). This also applies to post-actives and pensioners.
For young engineers up to 30 years old, the annual membership fee is € 90, and for students HBO, WO and NLDA it is € 45
New members can apply via www.kivi.nl. Choose "Become a member" and use discount code "Imarest". Existing KIVI members can apply for the combined membership by sending an e-mail to (E: ledenadministratie@kivi.nl).
The combined membership gives access to KIVI and IMarESt (affiliate) activities and membership benefits, including the KIVI and ImarEST journals. It is also a starting point for the internationally recognised Chartered Engineer programme.
According to our understanding, membership fees can be paid by employers to employees as "targeted exemption" free of payroll tax.
