What is this competition about?
Technology can enhance our senses. Allowing us to perceive more accurately, faster and better. To enrich our understanding and thus enhance our capabilities. To perform new tasks not yet possible for humans and to do our work faster and better.
In what new ways can we connect people with technology? Body-worn technology, enabling us to get more out of people's senses? And thereby increase human capabilities? Come up with an innovative idea and get more out of people with new innovative technology.
Realise your idea with € 200,000
New technologies are indispensable in the work of the Ministry of Security and Justice, and that of defence, police and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. And that is why new innovative ideas are more than welcome. Your ideas. That make our work better and more effective. Whether it is a police officer on the street, a soldier during a mission, an officer of the Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary or a prison officer of the Judicial Institutions Department.
Do you know how to harness technology and progress without crossing ethical and privacy boundaries? Then your creativity is at the heart of successful innovation. The winner of the VIC gets the opportunity to develop the idea together with the government and receives €200,000 to realise it. And: you retain ownership of your idea.
Get to know 1 of the most important social themes: safety, get inspired by this year's theme and come up with an innovative idea. Do not take daily routines as your starting point, but think outside the box and make new combinations. This is how conscious renewal is created: innovation.
