The Politics and DV Engineering working group analyses current political developments in the defence sector. It provides independent facts and interpretation from the technological knowledge and experience of engineers.
The Politics and DV Engineering working group has questions and comments in response to the policy review of the COTS/MOTS policy announced by the Minister of Defence. The recommendations have been drafted based on publicly available information and defence technology knowledge and experience.
The working group welcomes the review of the COTS/MOTS policy. After all, we have been indicating for some years that it is not in the interest of either the Dutch armed forces or the Dutch economy to apply this policy as dogmatically as is currently the case. However, the working group believed that the new Defence Industry Strategy (DIS) would already abandon the COTS/MOTS policy. In addition, the working group has some suggested additional questions for the study.
All questions and comments from the working group can be found via this link.
