The Politics and DV Engineering working group has the following questions and comments on the 4 July 2019 Defence Strategic Property Plan. The comments have been prepared based on publicly available information and defence technology knowledge and experience.
The working group believes that the Strategic Real Estate Plan (SVP) plan focuses on only one strategic aspect,. Namely existing real estate, which will remain in use. Other categories, such as properties to be disposed of or acquired in due course, are not included in this plan.
In addition, the working group has concerns, that deadlines to make the existing real estate sufficiently safe and to meet the current requirements of wellbeing, are further postponed.
In the field of sustainability, it is only indicated that structural requirements will be met, while the special nature of the buildings and grounds of Defence actually allows much more to make the Netherlands more sustainable.
Details and all the working group's questions can be found via this link.
