The Politics and DV Engineering working group analyses current political developments in the defence sector. It provides independent facts and interpretation from the technological knowledge and experience of engineers.

The Politics and DV Engineering working group has the following findings on the mission-driven top sector policy, as published by the State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate in her letter of 26 April 2019. The comments have been prepared based on publicly available information and knowledge and experience in the field of defence technology.

The new top sector policy addresses the innovation policy and applied forms of stimulation and, in a separate document, the content of the four themes, of which Security is one. The working group is very pleased that Security has now become one of the four top sectors for national R&D policy, but still has some questions about both documents.
