Description

Generate energy sustainably, or save energy?

The energy agreement concluded in July devotes a lot of attention to generating energy in a sustainable way: many thousands of wind turbines are to be installed, both on land and at sea. Funds are also made available for other forms of sustainable generation.
In terms of saving energy, the main focus is on insulating houses and buildings: good for jobs in construction, and it saves on heating costs.

Much less attention is paid to energy saving in industry.
Should limited resources be used to save as much energy as possible, or should resources mainly be used to promote (sustainable) energy generation?

We would like to invite you to a discussion on this topic. This will take place at ECN in Petten. As the name suggests (Energie Centrum Nederland), ECN has a lot of knowledge about energy use and energy generation in the Netherlands, about trends in the energy world, about successes and failures in dealing with energy better. It is therefore obvious that ECN will provide an introduction on this subject. And to start the discussion right away, Enrico Lammers will give his opinion on the subject. Enrico regularly blogs about subjects in the field of process engineering, including energy (see for example: Pro6com.nl).
This discussion is the final part of a company visit to ECN.

To start with, there will be a company presentation, followed by a tour of some of the test set-ups in Petten.

Please note: Bring passport or ID card for entry (driving licence is insufficient)
Closing date for registration is 16 September
