Description

On 6 June, KIVI NIRIA members - together with members of the KNCV - will be guests at the RDM Campus in Rotterdam for an interactive visit to the RDM Campus and the Adhesive Lab in particular.

Adhesives as a joining technique? It happens more often than you might think; watches, monitors, mobile phones, bicycles, cars, aeroplanes, heart valves, dental prostheses, artificial hips and knees are just some everyday applications. Developments from technical innovations, environmental aspects and social awareness force us to think about new lighter, smarter constructions. A diversity of (new) materials that can be joined with adhesives, sealants and tapes offers designers and constructors in our manufacturing industry a new challenge.

During the visit to the Adhesives Lab, the following topics will be discussed:
- why choose adhesives as a joining technique?!
- What are the basic principles of adhesive bonding and the adhesive process?
