Electrical Engineering ALV / Presentation NL2050 Energy Plan - current events

The board of the KIVI Department of Electrical Engineering had invited its members to attend the general membership meeting online.

Not just to account to its members only for the financial affairs, but also for the policies pursued and to be pursued.

The policy was explained, how it came about, what activities have been carried out and what are planned to further implement it.

This includes striving for a full board and a timely succession of board members. Several board members are now nearing the end of their six-year term of office. To ensure continuity, new board members need to apply.

Due to board changes, vacancies are/will arise, such as.

- general board member

- Programme coordinator

- Student / Young KIVI-EL MEMBER ( up to 35 years of age).

Candidates were requested to apply at el@kivi.nl. Within the board, the positions will be distributed later.
N.B. This part of the membership meeting was only for members Division KIVI Electrical Engineering.

Presentation NL2050 Energy Plan - current events,

The urgency is clear. "We can turn the tide if we act quickly and decisively. "The world must adapt to what is to come and pull out all the stops to reduce emissions immediately," said the new Dutch climate envoy Jaime de Bourbon de Parme.

The NL2050 Energy Plan describes a design for a CO2 neutral energy system in NL and it was presented at the KIVI Annual Conference 2020, among others.

In this talk, we addressed the topicality of this plan with a special focus on the need to significantly increase the electricity supply in NL.

After a brief summary of the plan, the following topics were discussed: an update on energy demand (steel preparation, built environment, transport), possibilities for acceleration; bottlenecks and follow-up research.

You are hereby also invited to contribute to one or more further questions/research projects of the Energy Plan EnergyNL2050, which are in line with the actions at Sounding Board Group I&E.
