At KIVI Elektrotechniek's Annual General Meeting, the chairmanship was handed over by Dominic Brügemann to Richard Heijningen.

Ester Hardi (Alliander) highlighted the future perspective from the grid operator with the presentation Future and Energy.

Herman Tuininga of Saland Electronics added to this with the presentation "Embedded" Systems with the inescapable developments and changes that await us all and will give us many opportunities.

Updated ALV documents will follow as soon as they become available.

New Chairman Richard van Heijningen outlined the results of the policy development study for the Electrical Engineering Department.

The route taken and the focus on

  • Electrical energy engineering with a focus on sustainable energy, Smart grids and Smart buildings/homes.

  • Embedded systems and Telecom as far as applied in electrical energy engineering, Smart grids and Smart buildings/homes.

now constitute the new policy direction for the Electrical Engineering Department.

The implementation of the initiated policy requires your cooperation as a KIVI member.

Description

The Section invites members to the Annual Meeting to be held on Tuesday 26 April 2016. The location is the Railway Museum in Utrecht at Maliebaan Station 16, 3581 XW, Utrecht, which is well known to everyone. For directions, see the museum's website: www.spoorwegmuseum.nl

Start of meeting 15:55; reception from 15:30.

The agenda includes the usual items, such as secretarial and financial report for 2015, board composition and appointment, activities undertaken 2015 and planned activities for 2016. Of great importance is the policy that the board wants to pursue for strengthening and improving the Electrical Engineering Division, in order to be ready for the coming years when developments within technology are moving at lightning speed.

The board therefore started a process in mid-2015 called "Policy Development Division Electrical Engineering 2020" (BO2020). Its purpose:

- How do we keep and make the Electrical Engineering Division attractive(more) for its members.
- How do we deliver value/quality for our members and future members.

The results of this study will be briefly and concisely presented and explained as well as the resulting Action Plan for 2016.

The agenda and related documents will be mailed to members who have registered.

The General Meeting of Members will be framed by an interesting lecture focusing on the perception of modern technology and the social developments surrounding it.

A guided tour of the famous and widely known Railway Museum will also be provided. Naturally, you can look around there yourself prior to the meeting.
