Description
The world of medical care is changing rapidly. Controlling costs and more and more methods of preventive action are on the agenda. There is also a trend in society to live more sustainably and consume fewer materials. This makes it necessary to adapt as a supplier of medical devices. Within Philips Healthcare, we are therefore actively overhauling existing systems (MRI, iXR, etc.) and providing them with the latest innovations according to the principle of the circular economy. This means maximum reuse of existing machines and components to make the most effective use of available materials. This results in immediate savings! Philips is a partner of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to optimise and exchange methods together with and other partners. Because the circular economy requires a totally different approach to the entire product cycle. Every step from design, production, sale/lease to use and dismantling must be taken into account consistently. In short, a new business case. Nestor Coronado (Director Circular Economy Program) will explain this methodology and its implications. Then visit the brand-new site where the action takes place.
