Description

On Friday 25 March, the Electrical Engineering Section will hold its Annual Meeting. This year we will be guests at DRAKA's cable factory in Amsterdam.

Thanks in part to Draka, the world keeps moving. Whether it's flying, driving, taking off, descending, generating energy, delivering goods or connecting each other - there's a good chance Draka products are involved.

Draka was founded in 1910 by Jan Teewis Duyvis. His view was that a strong commitment to the needs of your customers brings success. This conviction - as strong today as it was almost a century ago - has enabled Draka to grow and change together with its customers.

A leading position
Draka occupies a leading position in the sector. Not only is it the European market leader in high-quality car cable and communication cable; Draka is also the market leader in lift cables in America, and number one in fibre optic and glass fibre cable in China. In addition, Draka is indispensable as a supplier of wire and cable for residential and commercial construction.

Thousands of solutions
Draka is responsible for the development, construction, production and sale of thousands of advanced cables and cable solutions for every conceivable application and circumstance. With a turnover of around €2.0 billion, Draka is the seventh largest producer in the world, and the third largest in Europe.
