webtalk-elaadnl-Smart-Charging-Gelderland-Overijssel-final

ElaadNL will organise regular webtalks on a topic in the field of electric transport and the grid in the near future.

One or more experts present briefly (in about 15 minutes) their research and then answer questions. We hold the ElaadNL webtalks on Thursday afternoons at noon.

Is Smart Charging Ready for Large-scale Rollout? What do we learn from the large-scale smart-charging trial in Gelderland and Overrijsel?

2 December 2021 - Marisca Zweistra, ElaadNL

A smart-charging trial was conducted at 1,000 public charging stations in Gelderland and Overijssel from 2018-2021. Electric cars could charge slower during peak hours, and faster outside those hours. How did the trial go and what lessons were learned?

Also joining the panel were Frank Mak (Allego), Lotte Gardien (behavioural researcher ElaadNL), Arjan Wargers (Enexis) and Gerard Fidom (Province of Overijssel) to engage in discussion and answer questions.

Questions could be asked during the presentation (via chat) but also in advance via an email to info@elaad.nl.

Research by NKL: Smart Charging Square Works

Over the past two years, the project 'Proeftuin Slimme Laadpleinen' has realised 46 smart charging squares in 19 municipalities. In Utrecht, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Maastricht, among others, almost 500 smart charging points for electric cars have thus been added.

Smart charging plazas offer opportunities to realise many charging points at low cost in a short time and can thus contribute to sufficient charging spots for the rapidly growing fleet of electric cars in the Netherlands. Moreover, smart charging has great potential to relieve the electricity grid.
