ElaadNL: What role can AI play in smart charging of electric cars?
ElaadNL Webtalks

ElaadNL will organise regular webtalks on a topic in the field of electric transport and the grid in the near future. One or more experts present briefly (in about 15 minutes) their research and then answer questions. We will hold the ElaadNL webtalks on Thursday afternoons at noon.
What role can AI play in smart charging of electric cars?
4 November 2021 - Peter Markotic, ElaadNL
Smart Charging has become an increasingly familiar concept. Now, Smart Charging is often still achieved by controlling static charging profiles (fixed times). But with the deployment of AI (Artificial Intelligence), dynamic charging profiles can be generated for charging plazas based on the departure time and state-of-charge of the electric car. In this way, the available power can be optimally distributed without the user noticing. But what exactly is AI (Artificial Intelligence)? How does it work? And what role can AI play in smart charging of electric cars, for example, in managing smart charging plazas?
Also joining the panel were Nico Brinkel (PhD candidate University of Utrecht), Jelle Meersmans (Product Manager Enervalis) and Erik de Bruijn (Founder of stekker.app) to engage in conversation and answer questions.
Questions could be asked during the presentation (via chat) but also in advance by emailing info@elaad.nl.
