Hager - Smart grid and home automation
Description
Hager has been one of Europe's leading manufacturers of electrical solutions in buildings for many years.
Applying Domotics and Building Automation in a building is increasingly a must to ensure that a building can operate energy-efficient or even energy-neutral.
The growth of decentralised energy generators, such as PV installations, CHP installations and heat storage and recovery, means that a "normal" electrical installation can actually no longer exist.
In particular, the application of a smart and well-thought-out infrastructure is very important in order to be able to apply the right technologies smartly, flexibly and efficiently afterwards.
Despite the fact that there are still many problems to overcome, the growth in the use of electric vehicles seems unstoppable. Projections assume that in the leading market Germany will have 1 million electric cars driving around by 2020 and 5 million by 2030.
Time to prepare for this.
Hager is therefore participating in several E-mobility projects throughout Europe. The aim is to learn from these projects and ensure that the installation in buildings will soon be ready to charge all these vehicles and ensure that the Smart grid objectives can be met.
Rob van Veldhuizen is closely involved in all these developments as product manager building automation at Hager Netherlands. He took part in the standards committee that ensured the creation of the current NTA for smart meters in the Netherlands.
In his lecture, he will address the following topics:
- The smart meter / Smart metering
- Electric vehicle charging stations, status and developments at electrical manufacturers
- Measuring and visualising energy consumption
- Standardisation
- Standardisation through KNX
