Hydrogen from the Desert/ Jubilee VZKC
To mark our 10th anniversary, the Solar Power Plants Association organised a mini-symposium on Friday 8 June in Gouda on Hydrogen from the Desert. The speakers were Prof Dr Ad van Wijk on'Hydrogen from the desert' and Dr Martin Roeb on 'The production of solar-fuels including hydrogen using Concentrated Solar Power'. Many KIVI members were also present at this meeting.

Description
To mark its 10th anniversary, the Solar Power Plants Association (VZKC) is organising a mini-symposium on Friday 8 June in Gouda on "Hydrogen from the desert".
Speakers are Prof Dr Ad van Wijk on 'Hydrogen from the desert' and Dr Martin Roeb on 'The production of solar fuels, including hydrogen using Concentrated Solar Power'.
The first lecture by Prof Ad van Wijk on ' Hydrogen from the desert'. Prof Ad van Wijk (Future Energy Systems, Department of Process & Energy, Faculty 3mE, TU Delft) is one of the most influential entrepreneurs and innovators in the field of renewable energy in Europe. In 1984, he co-founded Ecofys, a renewable energy knowledge company, which eventually grew into Econcern. He is an advocate of the hydrogen economy and large-scale storage of energy via hydrogen.
The second lecture by Dr Martin Roeb on 'The production of solar fuels including hydrogen using Concentrated Solar Power'. Dr Martin Roeb graduated in chemistry from the University of Cologne and obtained his PhD in physical chemistry at the same university. Since 1999 he has been working as a scientist, project manager and group leader in the Solar Research Division of DLR in the field of applications for high temperatures on solar energy. He took over the management of the "high temperature solar-chemical engineering " team. In addition to his many publications, he was awarded a dozen awards including the prestigious Descartes Research Prize 2006 from the EU for the Hydrosol project, as well as the WHEC Award 2014 for "exceptional oral presentation" in Korea.
Very promising is the test with an artificial sun to achieve the high temperatures at a CSP Concentrated Solar Power).
Then networking and celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Solar Power Plants Association (VZKC) with the raising of a toast.
