The VZKC invites us to the Solar Power Plant Association meeting on 25
March 2023. This meeting will consist of two parts:
- first part, for VZKC members only, is the annual meeting 2023 (ALV) of the Solar Power Plant Association (VZKC).

'Green hydrogen for all Namibians'
Micha de Roos
Micha de Roos MSc is a passionate and dedicated industrial ecologist who strives to make our systems sustainable, socially and ethically just. He is a self-taught generalist who combines economic, ecological, psychological, socio-technical and philosophical insights to devise systemic solutions that address the root problems of our current society. Micha combines idealism with a pragmatic approach and particularly enjoys working on complex issues around energy transition, socio-technical innovations, circular economy and curbing CO2 emissions.
The study developed a theoretical framework to assess how the joint efforts of key actors and institutions in relation to hydrogen projects, promote or block local, inclusive and equitable development in Namibia.
To collect data for the framework, a case study was conducted with 20 semi-structured interviews with key hydrogen actors in Namibia and various reports, government documents, academic studies and news articles were studied. The insights from the case study were used to formulate key strategies and policy recommendations.
Micha had several meetings with the Dutch embassy and various ministries to lobby for the implementation of key recommendations.
Micha also has experience of running a successful start-up of his own and leading a student consultancy team.
Speakers bio
Micha is an extroverted masters student at TU Delft, is doing an internship at the Port of Rotterdam Authority, and has a passion for sustainability and innovation. He particularly enjoys working on complex issues around energy transition, socio-technical innovations, circular economy and curbing CO2 emissions.

Admission is free for VZKC members. For non-VZKC members, admission is €10.
