
On Wednesday 13 November 2024, Paul van Moerkerken received the KIVI Honorary Medal.
Paul has been committed to KIVI in general and the Electrical Engineering Department in particular for many years. His active commitment and contributions to the ins and outs of not only the Electrical Engineering Section, in which Paul has time and again managed to combine his technical interests and his organisational capacities into meaningful and KIVI-worthy events, with contributions of personal commitment, using his broad interest in the field of Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications and his commitment in representative association parts. With his more than 20-year board memberships, his active stance in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications and the Council of Members, as well as his financial functions and contribution to initiating and implementing the Electrical Engineering Department's successful, innovative and KIVI's image-supporting webinars, Paul also meets the criteria in space to the extent of receiving this honorary medal.
Some of his roles at KIVI (past and present) include:
- 2nd Secretary and secretary of the Leiden Region
- Board member, secretary, treasurer and web administrator of the Electrical Engineering Division
- Web administrator of the Telecommunications Division
- Member of the Council of Members
- Member of the LR Financial Committee
