Wieringermeer wind farm in progress
Excursion Wind farm Wieringermeer under construction
Windpark Wieringermeer, the largest wind farm on land in the Netherlands, is being built in the Wieringermeer polder. By scaling up the existing turbines, more energy can soon be generated from this wind-rich area, and with the new line arrangements, the appearance of the landscape will improve. The initiators for the construction of Windpark Wieringermeer are Nuon, part of Vattenfall (together with local partners) and ECN. Together they form the partnership Windkracht Wieringermeer. Windkracht Wieringermeer works closely with the municipality of Hollands Kroon, the province of North Holland and the State. Commissioned by Nuon / Vattenfall, the contractor combination Nordex Group, BAM Infra Nederland and Van Gelder Group is carrying out the work. Nuon and Van Gelder are inviting members of KIVI Geotechniek together with the Dutch Geotextile Organisation to an excursion to this Wind Farm near Wieringerwerf. For more information see the flyer:
