The Board of the KIVI Geotechnical Section would like to bring to your attention the next European conference: the 26th European Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference in Graz, Austria, 2018.
From 11 September to 14 September 2018, the 26th European Geotechnical Engineers Conference for geotechnical engineers under the age of 35 will be held in Graz, Austria. From the Netherlands, 2 KIVI members can participate in this for free. Would you like to be selected by the Geotechnical Department for this event where you can meet geotechnicians from all over Europe? Then apply NOW. What to do Submit by 10 December 2017 a title and abstract (abstract) of maximum 250 words on a geotechnical/geological (research) project + your CV and short motivation (max. 150 words) why exactly you should be selected. The abstract should be submitted in English, other correspondence may be in Dutch.
Rules of play
The rules of the game if you are selected are as follows:
- KIVI-Geotechniek pays the travel and conference costs; you have to organise the required time yourself in consultation with your employer.
- the KIVI-Geotechniek board decides who will be delegated based on the entries.
- a maximum of 2 persons from the Netherlands (member of KIVI-Geotechniek) not older than 35 years at the time of the conference will be sent.
- if you are selected, you have to write a full English-language paper; the subject is free, but must reflect your own research/project input.
- upon return from the congress, you will have to write an A4 report for publication in Geotechniek and/or on the KIVI website (in Dutch).
- non-KIVI members may also apply, but must become members of the department after selection.
- application/submission can be made to the KIVI Geotechnical Department through Joris van Ruijven, joris.vanruijven@Deltares.nl
- the 2 nominees will be notified personally by the KIVI Geotechnical Board no later than 20 December
- after this (expected) acceptance will follow and instructions for submission of the paper will be provided (Mid 2018).
