'Garage2020, a workshop for Youth Aid'

Garage2020 is a workshop for the future of Youth Aid. Participants come from all kinds of backgrounds, in healthcare, or just outside it. We try to solve complex problems in innovative ways. Evelyn Visschedijk and Gabriela Aguirrezalbal have been involved from the very first moment of Garage2020.

From their experience, they saw how youth care was losing touch with the living environment of children, young people and families. That there was a potential of new insights and technology waiting to be the answer to complex issues. Together with youth care parties, the City of Amsterdam and designers, designers, data specialists and care providers, among others, they started the Garage2020 movement. This has since grown into a national network of Garages where people work together to make youth care "redundant". How exactly do you do that? Designing with and for youth, but also the parties working around them? This is what Evelyn and Gabriela tell us using the Garage2020 method.
