IO Special: Service Design i/d Practice
Description
In the world of service innovation, Service Design is now a well-known phenomenon. Service Design is about designing services in such a way as to create added value for both users and stakeholders. But at the same time, the field is still developing and the knowledge gained is not yet widespread. For this reason, over the past three years, research has been conducted into the application of Service Design in Dutch business; as part of the programme 'Innovation in Services, Service Design in practice', Service Design agencies from the northern Randstad region carried out a number of projects. These projects focused on service provision around Utrecht Central Station, which is currently being rebuilt.
In the programme, Hogeschool Utrecht worked together with the following partners: DesignThinkers, Edenspiekermann, Bureau H2O, Movares, Prorail, Scope Design & Strategy, Service Design Netwerk, STBY, Taskforce Innovation Region Utrecht, TU Delft and 31Volts. The programme was made possible by subsidy under the economic incentive programme 'Pieken in de Delta' of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the municipality of Utrecht and the province of Utrecht.
